What does the King James Bible say about Repenting of your sins to be saved?

People say we need to repent of our sins to be saved, but the word repent just means “to turn from,” when Jesus said  in

Mark 1

King James Version

“14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

he meant turn from unbelief to belief

God repented more than anyone else in the Bible, and the Bible says in

Jonah 3:9-10

King James Version

9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

And we know that God has never had any sin at any time, so it’s impossible for God to repent of sin, but not impossible for him to change his mind, which is what it meant in Jonah 3:9-10

Do you see how God said turning “from their evil way” is “works” in Jonah 3:10?!

Once we have defined “works” according to the Bible.  We can understand what the Bible means when it says

Ephesians 2:8-9

King James Version

“8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.”

So the Bible is saying that we are saved by grace through faith, and NOT by turning from our evil ways, which is “works” according to the Bible.

The Bible says our righteousness is as filthy rags.

Isaiah 64:6

King James Version

“6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

2 Corinthians 5:21

King James Version

“21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Do you believe this?

1 Corinthians 15 KJV

“3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:“

Jesus said in the Bible,

John 14:15

King James Version

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

The reason for this is because after we are saved we receive the indwelling of the Holy Ghost who is God, and the Bible says that when we sin, we grieve the Holy Spirit of God, who IS God, so if we love God we should not sin, so as not to grieve God, who Jesus even said that he calls us Friends.

Ephesians 1:13

King James Version

“13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”

Ephesians 4:30-5:17

King James Version

“30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.”

John 15:15-17

King James Version

“15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.”

The Bible says that SIN is the transgression of the LAW.

1 John 3:4

King James Version

Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”

Romans 4:15-17

King James Version

“15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.”

The Bible is clear that we are NOT saved by keeping the LAW, which is the SAME as the COMMANDMENTS.

Galatians 2:16 KJV

“Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.”

Romans 4:5 KJV

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.”

Remember how the Bible says

Romans 4:15-17

King James Version

“15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.”

God is clear that HELL is kindled by his WRATH.

Deuteronomy 32:22

King James Version

For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains.”

Therefor anyone who is trusting in obeying the LAW to get them to heaven, will surely go to hell.

Romans 3 KJV

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 3:23 KJV

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

Romans 6:23 KJV

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:22 KJV

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Romans 5:12 KJV

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Revelation 1:18 KJV

“I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

Romans 5:8 KJV

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us

Romans 5:6 KJV

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly

God says that we can know for sure if we are going to heaven.

1 John 5:13 KJV

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.”

And this is how.

Romans 10:17 KJV

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God

This is the gospel.

1 Corinthians 15 KJV

3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

And this is how you get saved.

Romans 10:13 KJV

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 5:24 KJV

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Romans 10:9-10 KJV

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation

John 3:16-18 KJV

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Acts 16:30-31 KJV

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

John 20:31 KJV

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

1 John 5:10-12 KJV

10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Romans 8:16

King James Version

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
